Family Planning

For some reason, I thought that since we were now engaged, I should go look at consolidating our cell phone plans. Why I never thought of this before is beyond me. So, I went to AT&T and actually asked about plans and what kind of discounts we could get. They went through all the details and gave me a pamphlet that actually said "family plans." Imagine Eli's surprise when I excitedly told him about having a family plan and then showing him the pamphlet!

Telling people about our engagement

So, after we relished in our new engagement status for a few hours by ourselves, we decided to tell our immediate family. The thing about not talking to your family very frequently (both of our parents live in other time zones) is that the conversations are across the board after we broke the big news. Such as, my parents were very excited for me, but after a few minutes, my dad was asking what kind of iPad he should get, as he was planning to line up for Black Friday. Somehow that is still as memorable as their reaction to the news!

Also, there is a hierarchy of telling people the news. The immediate family and close friends get a phone call, the next batch of friends/relatives get a text message, and an email, and then the rest are informed via our engagement status change on Facebook. So many comments and "likes!" Crazy! I actually felt bad for the first folks who probably kept on getting emailed the comments. I drew a comic of how Eli proposed so that I could quickly tell everyone the story and to thank everyone for their well wishes. (previous post)

Just engaged!

Eli and I had decided to take the day before Thanksgiving off, and went up to San Francisco to have a fun day in the city. It was a beautiful day and we went to Dolores Park, where we had first met, to throw around a frisbee. While looking at the skyline, Eli proposed! We are so incredibly happy and I thought I'd share the story with this comic.
